Carthage Foundation

Bridging Carthage and the World

An independent, non-partisan foundation connecting the Tunisian diaspora worldwide — through research, community, and capital.

Tunisia's greatest asset is its global diaspora. We connect that dispersed talent and capital into one high-trust network — and direct it toward the founders and ideas building Tunisia's future.

We build in public. One thoughtful update per month. No spam.

The problem

The problem isn't talent. It's connection.

Tunisia has produced world-class founders and engineers — many now abroad. What's missing is the infrastructure to connect them to each other and to home.

01

Dispersion

A diaspora of over a million, spread across dozens of countries, with no shared network. Talent is everywhere; it compounds nowhere.

02

Illegibility

Founders, investors, and opportunities can't reliably find one another. The real map of who's doing what — at home and abroad — doesn't exist.

03

Trust

Diaspora capital is ready but cautious. It lacks transparent, credible channels to reach Tunisian-origin founders safely.

Three pillars

What we do

Three pillars, one engine.

01

Intelligence

We map and study the Tunisian diaspora — where its founders, investors, and talent are, and how capital and skill flow. Independent research, published openly.

Building
02

Community

We connect the people who can act — founders, operators, investors — through curated events and a high-trust network, starting in Berlin and expanding city by city.

03

Capital

Through tunisia.vc, our investment arm, we channel diaspora capital toward Tunisian-origin founders via curated syndicates.

Investing is available to qualified members through a separate, regulated process — not offered publicly here.

How it works

How it compounds

  1. 01Research
  2. 02Credibility
  3. 03Network
  4. 04Dealflow
  5. 05Capital deployed
  6. 06Mission funded
  7. 07New data

Each part feeds the next: research builds trust, trust builds the network, the network moves capital, and capital funds the mission and produces new knowledge.

Independence

Independent by design

Carthage Foundation is non-partisan and politically independent. We decline any funding that would compromise our independence, we serve the diaspora and Tunisia's builders rather than any party or government, and our research follows the evidence.

Transparency

Transparency is our infrastructure

  • Publish our research methodology and sources.
  • Publish annual impact reporting and short quarterly updates.
  • Publish high-level financials and how funds are allocated.
  • Enforce conflict-of-interest rules: disclose and recuse.

  2. 02Board of Trustees — oversight, budget approval, major decisions.
  3. 03Advisory Council — non-binding experts across research, capital, and policy.
